[Video] Flip It! Can Gratitude Help You Manifest Your Dreams?

[Video] Flip It! Can Gratitude Help You Manifest Your Dreams?

If you’ve ever dabbled into Law of Attraction principles or other spiritual practices designed to help you grow your business and manifest your dreams, you’ve likely been encouraged to have a gratitude practice.

And, if you’re like a lot of entrepreneurs, including myself. you may find yourself rolling your eyes at this advice.

It sounds too easy, doesn’t it? Just come up with a list of things you’re grateful and that somehow is going to help you manifest your desires.

Really?

Precisely how is THAT going to make you more successful? Especially if you’re struggling right now and the last thing you feel is grateful.

So, I get it. I was skeptical too.

Then, I read a study in the book “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself” by Dr. Joe Dispenza.

A group of participants were asked to hold a beacon with DNA strands in it while focusing on unwinding the strands. If they just used their thoughts to unwind them (like what we all learned in the movie “The Secret”, which was anything you thought about, you attracted into your life) nothing happened.

BUT, the group of participants who felt grateful as they thought about unwinding the strands, they were actually able to unwind them by 25%.

The key is to combine the emotions of gratitude with the power of your thoughts. If you can do this, and do this consistently (like every day) you’ll manifest what you desire.

Gratitude is one of the highest vibrations there is. That means the longer you’re able to stay in gratitude, the longer your energy is operating at that higher level, and as like attracts like, that high vibrational energy is attracting your desires to you.

Now, I’m grossly simplifying Dr. Dispenza’s work here, but if you want a couple of pointers to get started, take a few minutes to watch below:

[Video] Flip It! I’m Spiritual so I Should Never Have Bad Feelings

[Video] Flip It! I’m Spiritual so I Should Never Have Bad Feelings

If you’re a part of a spiritual community, including the entrepreneurial spiritual community, it’s not uncommon to hear things like:

• Sending love and light.

• I only focus on love, I don’t want to put any energy on anything negative.

• Don’t call anything a failure, you should rephrase that into something more positive.

• You don’t have to do things that scare you to transform, rephrase that into doing things that excites you.

• There’s so much negativity in the world, let’s just talk about the positive.

You get the picture.

This happens so frequently, it actually has a name. It’s called a spiritual bypass.

You’re spiritual! That means you shouldn’t be feeling any “bad” emotions. You only feel love and light and only focus on the positive.

So, let’s talk about this. It sounds good, doesn’t it? Who wouldn’t want to focus just on the good and not on the negative? And, if you’ve studied Law of Attraction, you learn that whatever you focus on expands so of course you want to focus on the good versus the negative.

But, as usual, things are rarely what they seem.

Believe it or not, your fear-based emotions, like grief, anger, fear, exist to help you. Fear is there to because there are times in your life that fear is an appropriate emotion — you seeing a shadow at the end of a dark alley — yes, your fear showing up and telling you to get out of there is a good thing. Anger is a reaction when your boundaries have been violated. Guilt helps us live in a community. And grief lets us know we loved. It’s our badge for loving deeply. And if you allow yourself to go there and fully feel grief and let it move through you, the gifts you’ll receive can change your life.

But, those emotions uncomfortable, so in many cases we don’t want to feel them. Instead we do all sorts of things to keep ourselves from feeling them — we drink, overeat, gossip, fight, shop, post inappropriate things on social media, distract ourselves by being “too busy,” etc.

The problem is, ignoring our emotions or burying them or running away from them doesn’t mean they go away. Nope. Feelings just want to be felt.  They stick around and bother you until you feel them. Once you do, then (and only then) will they go away.

And, when you don’t feel them, they build up. Which is why we’ve lost a lot of the benefit those feelings can give us — they’re so built up and so desperately want to be felt they start coming out at inappropriate ways. So, we can’t trust them or trust what they’re trying to tell us.

The good news is all is not lost. We can get back to the place where we can use our fear-based emotions to guide us — all we have to do is start pausing and allowing them to be felt and move through us, no matter how crazy they seem in the moment. And eventually we’ll be able to start trusting them again.

Watch below for more on what you can do to start trusting your emotions.

3 Hard Truths About Building Your Online Influence

3 Hard Truths About Building Your Online Influence

There’s no better way to grow your business online than by growing your influence.

When you’ve built a strong online influence, it likely looks like you have a large online community who follows you. For instance, maybe you have a big email list or lots of Facebook followers or a popular blog or podcast or Youtube channel. (Or a combination of the above.)

And, of course when you have that, it’s so much easier to build a successful, profitable business.

But, having online influence is more than just collecting followers on the various social networks. It also means people are actually reading your words and listening to your message.

And, when that happens, it’s truly magic. Because then you’re in a position to share your gifts and message in a much bigger way.

And when you want to make a big difference in the world, who wouldn’t want to have an influence?

The problem, of course, is how … how do you do it? How do you grow your online influence (especially if you’re just starting out), and do it in a way that’s authentic and doesn’t feel slimy, or like you’re twisting people’s arms? (In other words, how can you do it in a love-based way?)

Well, while it’s not particularly complicated or difficult to develop and grow your online influence, it DOES take some work. And you also need to accept a few hard truths. Let’s take a look at three of them:

1. It’s an inside job. Learning the latest, hot new way to attract followers on whatever platform you’re focusing on isn’t actually going to build your influence.

If you want to inspire people to make positive changes in their life, then you need to be very clear on who YOU are—what your expertise is, what your business is about, who you serve, etc.

This inner work can be tough—I get it. But, the clearer you are, the more people will be able to decide if you’re someone they want to listen to, and become a part of your community.

The less clear you are, the more likely people will ignore you—not because they aren’t interested in what you have to say, but because they’re too busy to try and figure out if you’re someone they want to pay attention to.

2. Be authentic. People are savvy. They can sense if you’re walking your walk, or if you’re just telling people to do one thing while you do something else.

And, there’s nothing that has less influence than a hypocrite.

The more you and your business are in alignment with your message, the more influence you’re going to have.

At the bare minimum, it’s important to reflect what you offer in your business. So, if you’re in the health industry, make sure your health habits mirror what you teach. If you teach marketing, make sure your own marketing is in order.

But, you may want to look deeper. Are you someone who pays your team and other contractors on time? Do you believe in investing in yourself (since you’re asking others to invest in themselves through you)?

It may not seem like this would move the needle much, but it really does. If you believe in Law of Attraction, you know that the more you have your own act together, the more the Universe will deliver to you. But, even if you don’t, if affects how YOU are showing up. If you’re out of integrity, it likely will show up in YOUR energy, which people will sense even if they never say anything or are even completely aware of it. And that will affect how people see you, and their willingness to be in your community.

3. It’s going to take time. Ah, this one is tough. Building online influence isn’t going to happen overnight. It might not even happen in six months. Or a year.

People need time—time to get to know you. To see if they like what you’re about. To see if they resonate with your message. To see if they resonate with YOU.

To make things worse, all of this happens on THEIR time, not yours. You need to land some clients because you need money for next month? Tough. No one is going to be compelled to follow you (much less buy your products and programs) because you need the money.

There is no question this is a long-tailed marketing strategy, which by definition means it’s going to take time … BUT once it happens, it will start to take on a life of its own.

[Video] Flip It! If You Do What You Love, Will the Money Follow?

[Video] Flip It! If You Do What You Love, Will the Money Follow?

You’ve likely heard the statement — do what you love and the money will follow.

But is it true?

Well, yes and no.

On one hand, when you do what you love, you’re likely passionate about it as well. Which usually means, you’re also spending a lot of time working on it.

And typically the more time you’re spending at something, the more likely you’ll be successful at it.

In addition, if you look at this from a law of attraction or energetic perspective, love is one of the highest vibrations. So, if you do what you love and love what you do, you’ll be operating at a very high vibration. That means you’ll be attracting money and abundance and opportunities and success.

But — there’s always a but — it’s not that simple.

First off, there seems to me a lot of confusion around doing what you love. Some folks feel like if you’re doing what you love, that means you’re loving what you do.

All. The. Time.

And that just isn’t true.

There are going to be times you’re in the flow and really passionate and loving what you do. And, there are going to be times where it’s a struggle. Or a drain.

Just because you love what you do, doesn’t mean you’ll never feel overwhelmed. Or stressed. Or like you need a vacation.

Plus, you may not love every single part of it. For instance, if you’re a book author, maybe you love writing the first draft but you don’t especially love the editing process. Or maybe you love the writing part but you hate the marketing part.

Or maybe there are just days where you don’t feel like writing. (Spoiler alert: successful authors are the ones who write every day whether they feel like it or not — they aren’t waiting around for “inspiration” or to only do it when they feel like it.)

But, it’s not just about writing. It’s anything you want to succeed at. For instance, if you want to build a successful business around what you love — I can pretty much guarantee you ARE going to have to do things you don’t like.

That in and of itself, isn’t the problem — the problem comes in when you allow the times you aren’t loving what you do to derail you. You don’t follow through on your marketing the way you should. You don’t show up to consistently work on your creative project.

And, consistency is what typically leads to success.

I share more ways you can tweak what you’re doing so you’re doing more of what you love in the video below. Watch now:

[Video] Flip It! Does Law of Attraction Actually Work?

[Video] Flip It! Does Law of Attraction Actually Work?

You’ve undoubtedly heard of the Law of Attraction, which was made famous by the movie “The Secret.” At its simplest level, it’s a Universal Law, which says that we attract into our lives whatever we focus on.

Some people make “vision boards,” so they have a visual representation of the things they want to focus on. Other people set goals or intentions, and work toward them each day. Still others practice gratitude, or meditate.

Some people say the Law of Attraction works.

And some people say it doesn’t.

And some people say it only works some of the time.

What do you think?

A quick online search of, “Does the Law of Attraction work” returns more than 42 million results—so this is obviously a widely discussed topic.

At one point (after watching “The Secret”) I was convinced it doesn’t work. I wanted to earn more money. But the more I thought about money, the more stressed I felt, and the less money I had.

Now, though, my perspective on the Law of Attraction has shifted—because as I embarked on my personal development journey I met some really great mentors who had more experience with it, and who were able to teach me some of its nuances.

I talk more about this shift in this episode of “Flip It!” but for now, I’d like to point out one thing: that simple explanation of the Law of Attraction—that we attract whatever we focus on—really does the Law a disservice.

And it does you a disservice if you don’t explore the Law on a deeper level. You see, the Law of Attraction is about more than what you think about. It’s about what you feel, and who you are, while you’re in the midst of attracting things into your life.

So I invite you to watch this episode of “Flip It!” and begin your own exploration.

2 Steps to Using the Law of Attraction Correctly and Attracting More Money

2 Steps to Using the Law of Attraction Correctly and Attracting More Money

Are you as skeptical as I was that the Law of Attraction even works?

(Growing up in Wisconsin and the daughter of a scientist, when I first heard of it, I thought it was pretty much a bunch of bull.)

However, at the time when I was first introduced to the Law of Attraction, I was pretty desperate. I was trying all sorts of strategies to attract more money to my business, so I thought why not? I’d give LOA a try.

What did I have to lose?

It turned into one of the biggest mistakes of my life.

Now, before I go any further, let’s talk about what exactly IS The Law of Attraction. It’s a Universal Law, which means it’s always working: “Like attracts like.” In other words, you’ll attract experiences that align with the energy you’re putting out there. Whether it works for you or against you is up to you.

That first time I encountered the Law of Attraction, I didn’t use it correctly. Consequently, I didn’t get the results I was hoping for. (Actually, it was a lot worse than that. I ended up getting myself so messed up it took months to fix.) I did eventually turn things around, but not without a lot of needless suffering and angst. (I share more about my Law-of-Attraction-from-Hell story in my “Love-Based Money and Mindset” book.)

Before I tell you about the 2-step mindset shift that will help you use the Law of Attraction correctly so it actually works for you, I want to give you a quick word of warning: do NOT be deceived by how simple this process seems.

As humans, we often make things more complicated than they are. In reality, keeping things simple tends to serve us better.

Give this a try and see what magic starts to happen in your life and in your love-based business!

Step One. Notice evidence of abundance (whether it’s money or love or anything else you feel is lacking) in your life or business.

When we experience a lack of something, we often start obsessing about it. When we obsess, that’s all we think about.

Our energy reflects that, vibrating at a low frequency of lack.

And then (because as you know, “Like attracts like”), we attract more of that lack.

It’s important to note that this is about more than telling yourself not to think about something—because that never works!

Let’s use money as an example. If you feel like there is not quite enough money in your life or business, then you’re vibrating at a low frequency. To shift that energy, start noticing abundance everywhere.

Find a penny on the street? Receive a check from a client? Discover a dollar in your jeans pocket? Take note of this! It doesn’t have to be cash money, either. For example, if a friend treats you to lunch or someone brings you flowers, or a prospect wants to meet with you – these are all examples of abundance.

Now, journal it! Record five instances of money or abundance in your life, every single day. Even if you don’t believe you have five per day, you’ll start to SEE what you actually do have, already.

Step Two. Be grateful for all the evidence of abundance in your life.

Gratitude is the LOA’s best friend! The more gratitude you feel, the more good things happen for you.

The great news is that Step Two ties directly in with Step One. When you’re journaling your evidence of abundance, take some time to be actively grateful for each piece of evidence.

You may even express your gratitude out loud or in writing. The exciting thing about this is that when you express your gratitude for the abundance you see in your life, more abundance will come your way.

Bonus points if you practice feeling grateful for everything in your life—the roof over your head, the food in your fridge, your clothes, your relationships … you name it.

When you think about it, each of us has so much for which to be grateful. The excitement lies in this realization.

Be patient with yourself as you practice this process. It may feel unnatural or awkward, and that’s okay.

It will get easier, and it will work!

And when it does, you’ll love your love-based business even more than you already do.

If you like (and resonate with) this approach, you might want to check out my book “Love-Based Money and Mindset,” in which I share specific action steps on how you can shift your relationship with money, so you start to easily and effortlessly attract it. Learn more here.
