If you have an online business or you’re looking to start an online business, you’ve likely been taught to build an email list — which is a list of emails belonging to your ideal clients — and market to them by sending out emails.
And, that’s a very solid business strategy. Email marketing has been proven to be one of the most effective way of marketing your business.
The problem is, it certainly seems like it’s a lot less effective than it once was. The number of people opening and clicking on emails seems to be going down all the time. And, while it used to be you could send an email out to your list and make some sales, now you may only hear crickets.
If that’s happened to you, it can feel really discouraging.
So, what gives? Is email marketing dead?
Take a moment to watch and decide for yourself.

Yes, the social aspect of community is indeed important in marketing emails. A “let’s talk about this” point of view rather than a “buy this widget” approach. Good stuff.

With all the love in the world, Michelle please work with a breathe coach, as the sound of you running out of air when you talk is very distracting. Also specific tips on how to do what you say would be awesome. Thanks!

Hi Stephanie,
Yes, I am definitely working on my breathing. (I was recently diagnosed with asthma, so this is all pretty new to me.) Hopefully you will see an improvement in the videos. In terms of specifics, I didn’t really design this Web TV show to go deep into specifics — I reserve that for the word-only blog posts. Yes, I absolutely will be sharing specifics in a blog post (maybe a few blog posts) around emails, so stay tuned.

Sorry to hear about your asthma, sending hugs for good health. I honor and applaud you for not letting it deter you from sharing your wisdom. Ironically, I find it a breath of fresh air to the usual not-so-love-based marketing messages. For me, the videos are short, sweet and invite me to learn more. I do wish you good health, and for now, the breaths are kind of your signature presentation. I hear it and know it’s you. 🙂 Peace and love.
